84 students of Mechanical Engineering participate in the Tape Ball Cricket Tournament 2022

Society Report

To improve sporting skills and enhancing teamwork, the maiden season of the Fall Tape Ball Cricket Tournament for the students of Mechanical Engineering Department was held from 5th to 6th November 2022 under the organization of Mechanical Engineering Society (MES).

The student body comprising twelve teams of seven players each registered for the event, and a total of 84 players participated. The teams carried unique names and logos such as Wolverines, Neutrinos, Royals, Team 2019, Warriors, Gladiators, Lions, Knights, Strikers, Hawks, HK 11, and Stallions. The teams which reached the semifinals were the Royals, Neutrinos, Wolverines, and Team 2019.

Mr Ali Qasim (5th Semester, BS Mechanical Engineering) was the captain for the Wolverines, while the Neutrinos were led by Ahmed Jamil (5th Semester, BS Mechanical Engineering). The winning streak of nine matches of Neutrinos was brought to an end by the eventual champion, the Wolverines that lifted the trophy during the award ceremony held at Auditorium 1.  Cricketer Sarim Ali (7th Semester, BS Mechanical Engineering) was nominated as the best all-rounder of the tournament whereas Ameen Babar (5th Semester, BS Mechanical Engineering) emerged as the best batsman and Ghulam Fareed (7th Semester, BS Mechanical Engineering) was the best bowler due to his fast and accurate bowling. The MES hierarchy members including Muhammad Rizwan, (5th Semester, BS Mechanical Engineering), Waleed Bin Nasir (7th Semester, BS Mechanical Engineering), and Abdul Hanan (7th Semester, BS Mechanical Engineering) coordinated the activities of this tournament with guidance from the administration of the department.
