Dean's Message

In the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Lahore, our vision is to be known for innovative, industry-applicable teaching and research, and work-ready graduates demonstrating recent market demands. The faculty also aims to be recognized for its innovative technological solutions which improve the quality of individual lives and prosperity of the community. As one of Pakistan’s most prominent universities, we offer a scope of undergrad, postgraduate by coursework and research programs in the fields of engineering and technology in UoL. Our engineering programs include work-incorporated learning, development of professional skills, and local and overseas employment openings.

Our globally recognized research is bolstered by world-class engineering labs and research facilities. Staff at the University of Lahore’s faculty of engineering and technology are focused on supporting excellent education and research opportunities that get our students ready to solve real-world problems. INTRODUCTION

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was permitted to induct its 1st batch in 2008 by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Accreditation has been granted from PEC for Batches 2008-2018. In fall 2014, Department started it’s MS and Ph.D. Programs which were approved in November-2013 by the Academic Council of the University.

The Department provides a sound foundation in Science, Computational skills and Mathematics to solve engineering problems in areas such as Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Applied Mechanics, Design, Manufacturing Systems, and Engineering Management & Economics.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is committed to:

To provide a high quality, up-to-date and well-recognized academic program in Mechanical Engineering emphasizing the sound application of scientific and engineering knowledge combined with technical skills.

To prepare students for successful careers and produce graduates, who will become responsible and contributing leaders in industry and government, with entrepreneurship and leadership qualities and lifelong learning skills necessary to meet society’s changing needs and aspirations for technological advancements.

To make students technically competent with excellent managerial and communication skills, while they acquire a solid background to perform diverse engineering functions and life-long learning skills.

Accreditation

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is Accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council From Intake of Batch 2008 up to 2018. Level-II OBE (Washington Accords) based accreditation has been granted to Batches 2016, 2017 and 2018, while Batch 2015 has been granted Level-I accreditation.
