PhD in

Mechanical Engineering

PhD degree is the highest degree program offered by the Mechanical Engineering Department, in compliance with HEC guidelines; and is recognized by HEC. Currently Ph.D program is being offered in Mechanical Engineering emphasizing the fields of Thermal & Fluid Sciences,  Manufacturing & Production and Mechanical Design & Analysis. The program of 48 credit hours requires completion of 18 credit hours (i.e. 3 credit hours per course) of course work along with passing of a comprehensive examination, and 30 credit hours of research dissertation.

Requirements

MS/M.Sc Mechanical Engineering degree from PEC recognized university with minimum 3.0 CGPA (Semester System) or First Division (Annual System). The subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) or ETS, USA in the area of specialization chosen at the PhD level must be cleared. In the case of GAT Subject test (http://www.nts.org.pk/GAT/GATSubject.asp) a minimum of 60% marks is required to pass the test. In the case GRE subject test, the minimum percentile score of 60% will be accepted.
